Fraud Text Alerts
With text fraud alerts, if our system detects suspicious activity on your card, you will receive a text message with details about the suspected transaction. All you have to do is respond to the text with a "yes" or a "no" to confirm or deny the transaction.
All alerts will come from a 5 digit short code not a 10 digit phone number. You will never be asked for the 3 digit security code on the back of the card or your PIN.

What should I do when I receive a text message about fraud on my United Bank & Trust debit card?
- If you receive a fraud text alert, respond “Yes” if the transaction was legitimate, respond “No” if the transaction is fraudulent, and respond “Stop” to opt out of receiving future fraud text alerts.
My United Bank & Trust debit card was declined, then I got a text. Is the text message legit?
- If you are checking out and the transaction is declined because our fraud monitoring systems suspected it was fraudulent, we will send you a text message asking you to confirm or deny the transaction. Reply “Yes” to approve the transaction but then remember you’ll have to have the cashier rerun your card for payment.
Will my card be locked if I don’t respond to a text alert?
- If you ignore a United Bank & Trust fraud alert and don’t approve or deny the transaction, your card may be blocked from making future transactions.
